Description

A dental bridge is a more economical way to fix a missing space problem. As doctor Reid puts it, "It is a cheaper, more time efficient alternative to an implant."

DR. REID: Sometimes patients will walk in and they have a missing space and they want to know what we can do to restore this space. And they have heard about implants and implants are great option, but sometimes they are prohibited by cost, by time. So that is sort of the benefit of a bridge. It is a cheaper, more time efficient alternative to an implant. And what it is is we take individual crowns on either side of the missing space and you attach those crowns to a prosthetic tooth and that is basically how the space is restored. The biggest benefit is really just the cost and also the time. The time the process takes versus the implant. And also bridges have been around for so many years, so many more years than implants. So from the evidence on that standpoint, there is lot of documentation, long-term documentation of bridges that we don't necessarily have on implants.
