LANAP Periodontal Treatment Brooklyn
LANAP periodontal treatment is performed with the Periolase® laser from Millennium Dental Technologies. At Brooklyn Heights Dental® serving Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, and other areas, LANAP periodontal treatment begins by determining the extent of periodontal disease, which is indicated by the separation of gum tissue from the tooth in the form "pockets." The depth of these pockets is measured with a small probe. If pocket depth is determined to be excessive, treatment can help reconnect gum tissue to ensure long-term dental health. If LANAP treatment is deemed appropriate, laser light is first used to remove bacteria and diseased tissue from within the pocket. An ultrasonic root cleaner and hand instrument are they used to remove surface tartar. The Periolase® laser is then used to finish cleaning the pocket and seal it to prevent new germs from entering. This allows the gums to reattach and heal, helping prevent further gums disease and possible tooth loss. Dr. Stanislaus' special LANAP training helps patients at Brooklyn Heights Dental® enjoy the most important advances in laser dentistry periodontal treatment available today.
