LANAP periodontal treatment is performed with the Periolase® laser from Millennium Dental Technologies. If LANAP treatment is deemed appropriate, laser light is first used to remove bacteria and diseased tissue from within the pocket. An ultrasonic root cleaner and hand instrument are they used to remove surface tartar. The Periolase® laser is then used to finish cleaning the pocket and seal it to prevent new germs from entering. This allows the gums to reattach and heal, helping prevent further gums disease and possible tooth loss.
