Dental Implants Brooklyn

Dental implants offer the most advanced solution for replacing missing teeth. In our practice serving Brooklyn Heights, Fort Greene, and surrounding areas, we perform the surgical placement of dental implants as well as the restoration of dental implants. We are happy that we are able perform the entire implant process from implant placement to the delivery of your natural looking tooth. This allows our patients to enjoy the convenience of having the entire implant procees perform in one office rather than having to suffer the inconvenience of going back and forth from the restorative dentist to the oral surgeon.

For many generations, removable dentures and fixed bridges were the only options for replacing teeth lost as a result decay, injury or gum disease. During more recent decades, dental implants have offered a more comfortable and natural looking alternative. With dental implants, you can go about your life without having to pay any more consideration to your dental implant or implants than you would your natural teeth. Dental implants do not irritate the gums nor interfere with chewing, taste or speech. Unlike removable dentures, dental implants allow you to chew any and all types of foods. Regular dental care is all that's needed because the implant is securely placed in the jaw. Our experienced cosmetic and restorative dentist, Dr. Eugene D. Stanislaus, attained his dental implant expertise from the prestigious Misch International Implant Institute at the University of Pittsburgh.

What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a titanium post that is surgical placed in the jaw and topped by a replacement tooth. In a process known as osseointegration, the titanium post and the jawbone fuse. This occurs over time as the bone grows around the implant, providing the strongest possible replacement for missing teeth. A naturally looking replacement tooth is then attached to the titanium post to complete the dental implant restoration procedure.

About the Dental Implant Procedure at Brooklyn Heights Dental™

At our practice, we can many times provide same day placement of both dental implants and dental restorations (the replacement teeth placed upon the dental implant). Typically, after a dental implant is placed in the jaw, a patient must wait from three to six months for the jaw and the implant to fuse before replacement teeth can be attached to the implant. At Brooklyn Heights Dental™, when the titanium post of a dental implant is secured in the jaw, and is deemed possess a certain strength, a dental restoration can be placed in the same day. While this dental restoration is temporary, and a more permanent replacement tooth will be placed during a second office visit after the jaw and implant have fused, this allows our patients to leave our office with a renewed smile that day. This reduces the inconvenience associated with waiting months for the placement of one or more replacement teeth.
